CIP Reporting 'How to' Guide

This document will show you how to install the CIP Reporting Client software.

  • Start by downloading the corresponding CIP Installer from the provided link.

 Silent Installation Option:

The client installer will run in the background after executing it in silent mode. It will take several minutes for the client icon to appear on the desktop.

To execute the installer without a graphical interface, use the command-line argument "/S". Be aware that specifying the URL for the server via command line is not possible. To complete the process, follow these two steps:

1. Initiate the installer in headless/silent mode using '/S' as an argument, which defaults to "<http://localhost:4399".>
2. Modify the registry key to reflect the desired URL.

Note: The URL key can be found at Computer\\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\WOW6432Node\\CIP Reporting\\Client

Individuals familiar with automation processes should find these instructions straightforward.

CIP Client Registry Keys:

If the installer is executed without a graphical interface, the instructions below this point can be disregarded, as they are not relevant.

  • Right click the setup file and run it as administrator, it may prompt you to enter admin credentials to continue.

  • Click on I Agree.

  • Check Extended Media if not checked, then click Next.

  • Click Next.

  • Change the Server URL to the corresponding URL and Port from your CIP Server.

  • NOTE!!! If you leave http://localhost:4399 you will get a connection error as the CIP Client is trying to connect to your own workstation instead of the server, in this case please try reinstalling the CIP Client again, if it does not prompt you to change the Server URL then please reach out to our support team for assistance.

  • Click Install.

  • Once the installation is complete click Close.

  • Done, CIP is now ready to use, you should see an icon of the CIP Client on the desktop.

  • No labels
