Upgrading from v10 to v11: What to Expect

Welcome to Your Upgrade Guide for CIP v11

Transitioning to a new version of any software can come with a learning curve. To make your upgrade to CIP v11 as seamless as possible, we've outlined the key changes and enhancements you'll encounter. Below, you'll find a concise overview of what's new, what's improved, and how these updates are designed to enrich the user experience.

CIP v11 Changes

Version 10 of CIP Reporting included two distinct themes: a minimalistic mono theme and a vibrant high-color theme. Users of the mono theme will appreciate that the interface update in Version 11 remains familiar, ensuring a smooth transition. On the other hand, those accustomed to the high-color theme will experience a shift towards a more unified and modern monochromatic interface. This change not only aligns with contemporary design trends but also enhances the overall consistency of the user experience.

One of the exciting upcoming developments with this update is the introduction of custom theme capabilities. This means you'll soon be able to personalize the system and its icons to reflect your company's branding, offering a more tailored experience.

Innovation continues to be at the forefront of CIP's evolution, and with Version 11, we're embracing AI technology to overhaul icon selection. The new icons are assigned using an AI algorithm designed to optimize visual appeal and functionality. We're confident in the positive impact this change will have. However, we understand that adjustments can require a period of adaptation. If any icon doesn't meet your expectations or fit well within your workflow, please reach out to us. We value your feedback and are happy to customize icons on a per-customer basis to ensure your satisfaction.

The latest version of CIP, v11, brings with it a significant UI overhaul. We've redesigned the interface to be cleaner and more modern, aiming for an intuitive navigation experience that streamlines user workflow. A standout addition is the highly requested Dark Mode, which switches the interface to a darker color scheme for improved visual comfort in various lighting conditions. This enhancement reflects our commitment to user-centric design.

To activate Dark Mode, simply click the button located in the upper left corner, alongside other main application icons.

Accessing macros has been streamlined in v11. Instead of the F12 shortcut, users can now use CTRL + SPACE to trigger macro input. Look for the red circle indicator at the top of your tab, signaling that you're ready to enter and apply your desired macros with a simple press of ENTER.

We've updated the spellcheck functionality in v11 to reflect modern standards. The built-in spellchecker has been removed in favor of a browser-like spellchecking tool, which automatically highlights misspelled words as you type. This means CIP no longer conducts an automatic spellcheck upon report submission, ensuring a consistent spellchecking experience across all platforms.

Gone are the days of looking for the "Exit" or "Close" buttons on pop-up windows. With v11, you can easily dismiss any pop-up by clicking outside of it. This update is part of our effort to make the user experience more intuitive and efficient, allowing users to focus more on their tasks and less on navigating the interface.
